Where are you currently a student?
Kaiser Permanente School of Anesthesia.
What is the most rewarding experience of training thus far?
Finding out how much I am capable of learning in a condensed amount of time, and utilizing my full potential. I have also met so many great people in the world of anesthesia and surgery.
How do you deal with the stress of school?
Just keep swimming. That’s what I tell myself some days. But I also workout 3-4 days a week with no exceptions, try to get adequate sleep, and spend time with my wife and 2 kids.
What/Who inspires you to keep pursing becoming a CRNA?
My wife. She is the one who pushed me to become a CRNA and is very supportive. Also, the people I met over the years through shadowing CRNA’s and working as an RN/CNA were very encouraging.
What is your favorite anesthesia specialty?
Orthopedics and Obstetrics. Both provide opportunities to use my regional skills and are very rewarding.
Is there any research, thesis, practice projects, missions, or other anesthesia related work you would like to share with our community?
I am definitely lacking in this area, but I have heard a lot about medical missions by anesthesia providers and look forward to the chance to participate someday.
