About CANA

The California Association of Nurse Anesthesiology (CANA, Inc.) is the professional organization for Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) in California. CRNAs are Advanced Practice Nurses (APRNs) who provide quality anesthesia care and services across the state — in hospitals, surgery centers, and other health care settings.

What We Do

• Monitor CRNA practice and health care legislation
• Work with lawmakers and regulatory agencies through our government relations activities
• Consult with educational institutions in California that graduate CRNAs
• Provide current educational information for CRNAs in practice
• Promote partnerships with the community and other health care professionals to deliver quality health care for all Californians
• Provide information about anesthesia and related health care services
